* Must be an SME in Batteries Regulation & Recycling Policy
Person Specification
As part of an interdisciplinary team leading our work on waste electrical and electronic equipment, batteries, end of life vehicles and tyres, we are seeking seven experts with a background in these sectors to help deliver the policies in the circular economy growth plan.
As the batteries expert, you will have deep subject matter knowledge and expertise in batteries. In particular, you will be able to provide technical and practical insight into sustainable battery production and/or collection, reuse and recycling systems (including how these are shaped by regulation), contributing to delivery of battery regulation reform and greater circularity in battery supply chains.
While we are most interested in you bringing your knowledge and expertise to our work, we would expect secondees to be able to demonstrate an aptitude for:
* developing policy proposals: define the issue to be addressed, devise options, source an evidence base, engage stakeholders, and recommend a preferred option, all involving preparation of papers and presentations;
* thinking strategically and programmatically: situate their individual work within the context of a wider programme, and contribute to defining the long‑term goal of the wider programme;
* working collaboratively: we are an interdisciplinary directorate and have a one team ethos;
* innovate: we are open to, and want our secondees to bring, new ideas and constructive challenge to our work
