Job Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, hardworking individual to work as part of a fast-paced team in our leading waterjet technology centre in Scunthorpe.
Main Responsibilities:
1. You will be responsible for the operation of the waterjet machines, setting & adjusting offsets to maintain tolerances for the accurate production of profiled parts.
2. You should be able to read work order instructions, selecting appropriate materials and batches to maintain quality control.
3. You will need to read drawings and relevant CNC programs and use Fanuc-based controllers to set up the waterjet machines.
4. You will be responsible for selecting and loading materials on & off the waterjet machines, observing safe manual handling practices and ensuring the material meets quality standards prior to profiling.
5. You must ensure production schedules are met and notify management when any issues arise which could cause disruption.
6. You will be responsible for good housekeeping, ensuring equipment & areas are tidy and following all safety procedures during operation.
7. You should be able to detect equipment faults or machine defects and report to management when necessary.
8. Communication with other team members and management is essential to ensure smooth workflow from CNC programming to final inspection. You will be required to maintain this communication at all times.
9. You will be responsible for carrying out daily checks of the machine equipment and immediately reporting any faults to management.
10. Basic maintenance of the machines when necessary. Full training will be provided.
Key Skills & Competencies
1. Forklift experience is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
2. You must be literate to accurately complete relevant work order documents.
3. Understanding basic geometric tolerances and having a sound understanding of precision measuring equipment.
4. You must be physically capable, as manual handling is a significant element of the role.
5. Possess GCSE grade C or above in English & Math's (or equivalent).
