The role
To support our firm with the increasing regulatory and legal controls, our Risk & Compliance Team has created a new role for a Senior Compliance Manager.
As part of a small team of seven, this broad role offers the opportunity to support all aspects of law firm compliance. Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Director of Risk & Compliance in developing, implementing, and improving compliance frameworks and controls;
* Conducting and reviewing CDD/KYC on a diverse client base, including higher-risk sectors, and contributing to risk appetite profiling;
* Contributing to risk assessments, policy drafting, and compliance improvements in response to regulatory changes.
Acting as a trusted deputy to the Director, you will provide guidance, supervise, and upskill junior colleagues, and deliver training to promote understanding and adherence to policies.
Additionally, you will lead important projects and support the strategic development of the firm's compliance function, making a significant impact on navigating regulatory obligations and managing business risks.
About you
We seek an individual with substantial compliance experience within a UK law firm, ideally over 5 years. You should have:
* A strong understanding of SRA Standards & Regulations, data/cyber security, AML, anti-bribery, and related compliance issues;
* Practical experience with CDD/KYC processes, including high-risk client onboarding and SARs;
* Experience in developing, updating, and implementing compliance policies and controls.
