Taylor Woodrow, a trusted provider of infrastructure and civil engineering solutions, is seeking a Contracts Manager join our highways team in Bristol.
In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of civils projects across the South West under the Bristol City Frameworks.
The Role
As a Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of multiple live schemes, collaborating closely with National Highways and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. Current and upcoming projects include roadworks, structures, embankment stabilisations, bridge refurbishments, and tunnel refurbishments.
From early contractor involvement (EDI) through to project completion, you will play a key role in ensuring safety, quality, and programme targets are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the successful delivery of highways civils schemes from EDI stage through to completion
* Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with National Highways and other partners
* Lead site teams and manage supply chain partners, fostering a culture of safety and performance
* Influence project planning and programming during pre-construction and EDI phases
* Monitor and manage contractual programmes and cost forecasts in collaboration with the commercial team
* Coach and develop your team, identifying training needs and supporting career growth
* Oversee the timely procurement of plant, materials, and sub-contractors
* Support the Operations Manager in identifying and securing future work opportunities across the region
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly motivated professional with extensive experience delivering highways or large-scale civils projects, ideally with a strong understanding of NEC contract frameworks.
You will ideally have:
* Proven experience managing multiple civil engineering schemes or a major infrastructure project
* A formal qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (desirable)
* Strong knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams and build effective stakeholder relationships
* A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving and project delivery
