The role
We seek an experienced/qualified carpenter to join as a Trainee Project Manager/ working foreman to work with and lead our 2/3 person installation team in our customers period and listed homes in London and around the South East.
Following an intensive 5 week training programme you will be supported on site to manage all aspects of the installation of our unique sash and casement window, loft, room in roof, and floor insulation products. The role may involve some occasional expenses paid stays away from home from time to time ( and during the first 5 weeks training) where the customers home is more than a 1.5 hour drive away.
What we are looking for
Successful candidates will be skilled carpenters and experienced in second fix carpentry or joinery such as windows and doors, kitchen and furniture fitting, or restoration joinery and will have computer, people, organisational and time management skills as well as a full, clean driving licence and an understanding of health and safety requirements. They will also be well presented and able to deliver jobs to our high standards of craftsmanship and finish. Experience of working with sash windows and on carpentry projects in listed buildings is an advantage. An interest in the environment is essential.
What we offer
Full training and guidance will be provided on project management and team leadership and on our particular products and approach. Key health and safety certification will be funded by the company. You will benefit from a central office support team and in the initial period while you establish yourself as a project manager, we will provide on site support.
Pay is between £32000 and £38000 per annum (with starting pay depending on experience) for a 40 hour week plus you can earn additional pay for hours for travel above the first 40 minutes and overtime. In addition we pay cash subsistence payments of £25 per night for any time with a stay away such as when working more than 2 hours drive from home, 33 days a year paid holiday and statutory pension. A Cash Health Plan and Employee Assist Programme is provided after the first 6 months employment.
