The Role

As a Heat Pump Engineer, you will install and commission heat pump and emitter systems, ensuring high quality and performance. You'll manage projects efficiently, achieve timely execution, and ensure seamless client handovers with zero callbacks. Your responsibilities include performing service and maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical and plumbing issues, and maintaining clear communication with project coordinators. You will also adhere to health and safety requirements and complete necessary documentation, contributing to a positive team environment and upholding the company’s standards.


Responsibilities

* Project Management & Installations: Perform installation and maintenance tasks (e.g., underfloor heating, radiator installations, pipework, heat pump services) to expected standards and speed, following method statements and relevant standards.
* Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on existing heat pump systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity, identifying potential issues early.
* Troubleshooting: Effectively troubleshoot basic issues in heat pump systems, providing recommendations for repairs and improvements.
* Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all service work and inspections, ensuring compliance and providing reliable references for future maintenance.
* Safety Protocols: Follow safety protocols and industry regulations to promote a safe working environment.
* Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients, address concerns promptly, and ensure satisfaction.
* Project Management: Plan and coordinate activities to ensure timely project completion.
* Fault Finding & Repair: Conduct fault finding and repairs for electrical and plumbing issues, ensuring standards are met.
* Client Handover: Ensure a successful handover to clients, with full information and confidence in their systems, aiming for zero callbacks or complaints.
* Coordination: Work closely with project coordinators to align on timescales and procurement.
* Communication: Keep clear communication with project coordinators throughout projects.
* Health & Safety Management: Diligently manage health and safety requirements, ensuring compliance and fostering safety culture.


What We’re Looking For

* Experience: Installing heat pump systems in domestic properties.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Team Player: Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
* Safety Commitment: Adhere to safe working practices.
* Positive Attitude: Enthusiasm and a positive mental attitude.
* Flexibility: Patience and proactive approach.


Qualifications

* Level 2 Plumbing, Heating or Heat Pump qualification from a recognised awarding body (e.g., City & Guilds, SVQ).
* Completion of Heat Pump manufacturer installation courses.
* G3 (unvented cylinder) qualification or proven experience with Unvented Hot Water Systems.
* Water Regs WRAS Qualifications.
* CSCS or equivalent health and safety qualification.


Extra Credit

* BPEC (or equivalent) GSHP or ASHP qualification.
* Low Temperature Heating Systems qualification.
* F-Gas Certification Training.
* Gas Safety Registration (if applicable, e.g., Gas Safe Register).

* Final Interview: Face-to-face with Installation Manager and Operations Director.
