Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an Ophthalmic Photographer Lead post to join our progressive ophthalmology team at Imperial College Healthcare Trust, London.
You will be based within the Ophthalmic Imaging Department, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team of consultant ophthalmologists, ophthalmic nursing and other support staff across multiple sites.
This interesting and challenging role involves leading a team of photographers and imaging team to performing diagnostic tests on patients presenting with a variety of eye conditions. A knowledge of eye anatomy and pathology, along with extensive experience of specialist ophthalmic imaging equipment, is essential and please see criteria in JD.
We are looking for an experienced and reliable person who is able to pay close and accurate attention to detail. You must also demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and training skills, be caring, enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a large team dedicated to providing high quality patient focused care.

Main duties of the job
* Responsible for the operational management of the medical photography team.
* Responsible for the day to day running of the photographic department within ophthalmology.
* Provide a full imaging service to the ophthalmology division at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
* Operate effectively in a flexible and demanding environment and proactively engage with NHS staff, consultants and external third parties.
* To undertake and allocate any reviews and PDR's of the imaging service in conjunction with band 6.
* To support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers without supervision in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team in line with local and national targets.
* To provide training and education to multidisciplinary staff.

Person Specification
Education/ Qualifications Essential
* Masters or equivalent in relevant field
* Degree in Photography
* Recognised qualification in Ophthalmic Imaging
* Specialist knowledge across a range of ophthalmic imaging techniques.
Desirable
* Qualified Medical/Ophthalmic Photography Practitioner
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities Essential
* Able to work in unpredictable situations and under pressure to deliver a gold standard imaging service
* Able to analyse and provide authorities advice on and manage highly complex and sensitivity situations where there is often conflict.
* Able to work independently/autonomously
* Knowledge of research and audit including implementation of findings and review of outcomes.
Desirable
* Demonstrate commitment through involvement in Trust wide initiatives/ committees.
