Vision for Education are seeking to appoint a passionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hyndburn, Lancashire. This is a full-time role starting in September 2025 on an ongoing supply basis, with opportunities for the position to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Role
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD and speech and language delays. You will play a vital role in supporting their access to learning, encouraging independence, and helping to meet personalised targets as part of their EHCP.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role in Hyndburn, Lancashire requires someone who is patient, empathetic, and confident in using a variety of communication and behaviour strategies. Prior experience working with children with SEND in a school setting is highly desirable.
Candidates must hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or a degree. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues are essential.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you ll be expected to build strong relationships with both pupils and staff, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure each child receives the tailored support they need.
