Overview
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for a highly skilled Learning Support Practitioner (LSP) to join the Early Years department at Hanbury Primary School. The role focuses on supporting children with complex needs, developing their communication and language skills, and working closely with staff and families to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
* Work with early years children, including those with complex additional needs.
* Support and develop children’s communication and language skills.
* Create and implement individual learning plans in partnership with teachers.
* Build positive relationships with children, staff and families.
* Collaborate with the Early Years team and external agencies as required.
* Observe and record pupil progress and produce reports.
* Collaborate with support staff through team meetings and planning sessions.
Qualifications
* Passionate about Early Years education.
* Highly experienced working with early years children.
* Motivated, enthusiastic and eager to make a difference daily.
* Patient, yet firm with rules and boundaries.
* Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with families.
* Capacity to deliver high quality support and develop children’s communication skills.
* Teamplayer, flexible and adaptable to meeting children’s and the school’s needs.
* Experience working with external agencies and applying their guidance.
