Hybrid Working (2 days from home/3 days in the Assessment Centre)
If you're a clinician with broad experience across multiple adult conditions and want structured work with predictable hours, this role offers an alternative to traditional practice. If your experience has been focused on a single speciality or limited patient group, this role is unlikely to be the right fit. This is not a hands‑on clinical role; it is report-based and requires strong report‑writing skills and comfort with structured frameworks.
The Role
As a Functional Assessor with Ingeus, you'll use your clinical reasoning to assess how health conditions impact daily living.
* Conduct telephone, video or face‑to‑face assessments
* Review medical evidence and complete clinical triage
* Use focused questioning and active listening
* Produce clear, structured reports to strict standards that enable DWP decision making
What You Need
* NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions
* Minimum 12 months of recent UK post‑registration experience
* Have been practising as a clinician in the UK over the last 12 months
* Experience working with a wide range of adult conditions across different clinical scenarios
* Strong written communication skills and be comfortable using computers
* High attention to detail and objectivity
This role will suit clinicians who:
* Are confident assessing varied health conditions (physical, mental health, long‑term)
* Can adapt their clinical reasoning across different patient presentations
* Are comfortable producing detailed written reports
Training & Working Pattern
* 6 months supported training to achieve DWP approval
* Hybrid working post‑training
* Full‑time hours with predictable schedule
Pay & Benefits
* Up to 10% annual bonus (paid quarterly)
* Starting salary – £44,862; salary at 12 months – £46,862 + potential to earn an additional £2,000 local bonus for this site
* Further salary uplifts aligned to new skills & development will continue to apply from year 2
* £2,000 referral scheme
