We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Lunchtime Assistant SEN to join our team at Grange School.
This is a Grade 2, permanent part-time position working 10 hours per week during term time only. The starting salary is £5,753.30, with a full-time equivalent of £24,027.
We’re looking for:
A dedicated and compassionate part-time Lunchtime Assistant to support students during lunchtime, ideally with experience working with children, especially those with SEN. The role involves ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive lunchtime experience.
Main responsibilities include supervising and supporting students in dining areas and elsewhere as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being, assisting with feeding and personal care needs, and creating a pleasant lunchtime environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting students with social interaction and communication, fostering positive relationships.
* Promoting inclusive behaviors and encouraging participation in group activities.
* Managing challenging behaviors calmly and positively.
* Monitoring and assisting with dietary restrictions or preferences.
* Collaborating with staff and SEN coordinators to meet students’ needs.
* Following school health, safety, and safeguarding policies.
About the Candidate
* Experience working with children, preferably with SEN.
* Ability to support social interaction and manage challenging behaviors.
* Good communication skills and a caring attitude.
* Ability to work effectively with staff and students.
