We’re working with our client on a genuinely interesting and important piece of work focused on improving veterinary vaccine availability and innovation across the UK.
This isn’t a traditional programme management role.
It’s an opportunity for someone who can bring together scientific concepts, policy thinking, stakeholder engagement and delivery capability to help shape and drive forward a national action plan in a complex and evolving part of the animal health sector.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a central role in developing and delivering a cross-sector action plan, working closely with stakeholders across:
* Government departments
* The animal health and veterinary sector
* Industry and delivery partners
The brief isn’t fully mapped out, so this role will suit someone who enjoys:
* Bringing structure to ambiguity
* Translating science to policy and developing practical, deliverable plans
* Building momentum across a wide and sometimes competing stakeholder group
What we’re looking for
This role will best suit someone who brings a strong blend of:
Policy experience (essential)
* Experience working in or alongside government, regulatory or policy environments
* Confidence contributing to or shaping policy development and implementation
Sector understanding (highly desirable)
* Background in animal health, veterinary science, life sciences or a related field
* Understanding of the veterinary landscape, vaccines, or public health would be particularly valuable
Programme / delivery capability
* Experience leading or coordinating complex programmes or projects
* Comfortable working without a fixed roadmap - able to create structure, plans and direction
Personal style & approach
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Comfortable operating with autonomy and limited initial direction
* Able to build credibility quickly with senior stakeholders
* Naturally organised, proactive and solution-focused
* Equally comfortable working at both strategic and hands-on levels
Why this role?
* A chance to work on a high-profile, meaningful area within animal health
* Opportunity to shape something from the ground up, rather than step into a fixed brief
* Exposure to cross-government and industry collaboration
A note on location & expectations
This is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week on site in Addlestone (KT15 3LS).
Given the nature of the work, there is a strong emphasis on in-person collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Salary: £62,000 per annum, pro rata
Term: 12 month temporary assignment (on a contract for services basis)
If this feels like the kind of role where you could bring both insight and structure to a complex challenge, we’d love to have a conversation.
