Salary: £43,696

Accountabilities
In this exciting role you will be undertaking corrective and preventative maintenance, servicing and repair of Hitachi rolling stock assets. This is a permanent role working on a rotating day and night shift basis.
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
1. Perform Scheduled Maintenance activities on rolling stock within the TMC in accordance with the vehicle maintenance instructions.
2. Undertake servicing and preparation of rolling stock.
3. Actively participate in the ongoing continuous improvement activities for maintenance processes and maintenance procedures that support all depot and fleet activities.
4. Support the delivery of new trains and undertake the maintenance acceptance processes.
5. Ensure exam tasks are being completed in a timely manner, undertake basic fault rectification or repair when required.
6. Adherence to all health and safety processes and procedures.
7. Attendance at testing locations, main line station and outstations to undertake preventative and corrective maintenance as required.
8. Must be prepared to travel and overnight away from base location for short periods of time.
9. Support the Maintenance Team Leaders and Production Managers in the delivery of the production plan.
10. Record all work activities and stock consumption using the maintenance management system in accordance with maintenance processes and procedures.
11. Working shifts to meet the service requirements of Hitachi customers within the TMC.
12. Assist as required.
About you
Required Skills/ Knowledge
13. Experience of working a 24/7 shift roster in a modern rolling stock maintenance depot environment.
14. Experience of working at stabling outstations or main line station technical support.
15. Modern fault finding and repair techniques using PC based laptops and remote train diagnostics.
16. Experience of performing modifications and campaigns on modern rolling stock
17. Can comfortable work within a team or on their own
18. Able to represent Hitachi in a professional manner at all times.
19. Ability to investigate complex electrical and mechanical faults and write detailed reports.
Education/Qualifications
20. Served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines.
21. Engineering based NVQ level 3.

24. Able to interface effectively with all levels of personnel both within and outside the company.

Desired Skills (not essential)
26. Intermediate IT skills – typically Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
27. Reading electrical, pneumatic, mechanical schematics and drawings reading
28. Fire warden, First Aider
29. Depot Protection
30. Working at Height, COSHH, Manual handling, AC/DC Depot isolation
