Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants (TAs) to work 1:1 and in small group settings with SEN pupils across a variety of schools in Liverpool, including both mainstream secondary schools and specialist SEN provisions.

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs (including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and more)
* Work either one-on-one or in small groups to help students engage in learning
* Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and school staff to create inclusive learning environments
* Offer emotional and behavioural support, helping to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally
* Adapt resources and approaches to suit the individual needs of the learners
* Monitor and record progress, contributing to EHCP reviews and support plans

Who We’re Looking For:
We welcome applicants from a variety of professional and academic backgrounds, including:
* Experienced Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants with SEN experience
* Recent Psychology Graduates or aspiring Educational/Clinical Psychologists
* Aspiring Teachers looking to build relevant classroom experience
* Youth Workers, Support Workers, or those from care backgrounds who have supported vulnerable individuals
* People with lived or professional experience of SEN, mental health, or additional learning needs
You don’t need formal teaching qualifications—your attitude, empathy, and commitment are what matter most.

Requirements:
* A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with additional needs
* Resilience, patience, and a calm, proactive approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
* Availability for full-time or part-time roles during school hours (8:30am – 3:30pm)
