Job Description
Senior C++ Software Engineer required for a 12 to 18 month contract working on the development of an edge processing solution aimed at transforming data from fiber optic sensors into actionable insights through algorithms. This contract is outside IR35 and is suitable for a skilled and experienced C++ Software Engineer with experience in server-side C++ applications, databases, interfacing front-end systems, and Python modules.
The role requires the following technical skills and experience:
1. Strong knowledge of modern C++ (C17+)
2. Experience with Python/Matlab; data signal processing, geophysics, seismicity
3. Knowledge and understanding of service architectures; REST APIs, WebSocket, databases, containers, cloud services (AWS, Azure)
4. Understanding and expertise in modern software development; version control (Git), bug tracking, test frameworks, documentation, design, dev-ops/containers
5. Familiarity with modern frontend technologies; JavaScript, Svelte, TypeScript, Angular
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to design scalable systems, and experience in agile methodologies
The client is based just north of London. Candidates can work remotely but should ideally be in or around Central or North London and able to attend meetings in Elstree as required.
This is a great long-term contract opportunity for a Senior C++ Software Engineer to work on a cutting-edge platform. You should have strong technical communication skills and be able to contribute to system architecture, code optimization, troubleshooting, and work effectively in a small development team.
