About the role
Role Title: Transport Shift Manager RDC
Position: This is a Permanent position
Hours of Work: Full Time, 35 Hours, working 6am to 2pm with occasional weekend working.
Salary: Up to £55,000, annual depending on experience
Location: This is an Onsite role based at Aylesford (Regional Distribution Centre). However, it may require visits to other distribution locations or sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a 24/7 transport operation that delivers to our branches and customers.
* Ensuring full compliance with all regulations, including EU driving and working time directives, and health and food safety guidelines.
* Managing and monitoring vehicle maintenance programs.
* Controlling departmental resources, including Partners, agency staff, and equipment, to meet KPIs.
* Promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the department.
* Managing the RDC when the General Manager and Transport Operations Manager are absent.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Senior management experience in a Transport/Distribution environment with extensive knowledge of Health and Safety and Transport legislation.
* Experience handling disciplinary procedures according to ACA guidelines.
* Experience fostering a culture of Continuous Improvements.
Skills and Experience You Can Bring
* A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for National qualification with extensive knowledge of current EU regulations.
* Strategically minded, capable of managing change and foreseeing potential issues.
* Effective stakeholder management skills.
