Overview
Miss Muffet’s Delicatessen is on the lookout for a passionate, professional cook with solid experience in a busy kitchen environment. This is not just a cooking job, it’s an opportunity to be part of something special as we continue to grow and evolve our offering. We’re known for our homemade food including salads, soups, quiches, cakes and more. And we’re looking for someone who brings not just skill but creativity, flexibility, and drive. You’ll be working closely with the manager and expanded future staff, contributing new recipes and ideas, and helping to take our menu to the next level.
Key responsibilities
* Prepare food for daily service – including salads, soups, quiches, bakes, and more
* Develop and follow recipes with consistency and accuracy, especially for baked goods
* Contribute new ideas and menu items to enhance and evolve our food offering
* Prepare catering orders such as sandwich platters for delivery
* Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies at the start of each shift
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of your station and ensure all food safety procedures are followed
* Serve customers in the front of house once cooking is complete – including making toasties, sandwiches and wraps to order
* Maintain a friendly, helpful and professional attitude with customers and coworkers
What we are looking for
* Proven professional cooking or baking experience
* A real passion for food and a willingness to create and experiment with new recipes
* Strong knowledge of food hygiene, preparation, and storage best practices
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands in a busy environment
* A team player who is enthusiastic, reliable, and driven to help build something special
* Experience in a customer-facing role is essential
* Food Hygiene Qualification is desirable (but not essential)
While we aim to maintain regular working hours, please note that these are subject to change based on the needs of the business. This may include working outside of opening hours (for prep or catering) and adjusted schedules if/when we extend opening hours or days. And you must be willing to adapt to new shift patterns and support the team during busy periods or business changes.

Pay will start at 12.21 for a duration of 2 months (probation period), and then will rise to 12.50. There is a chance to have a pay reviewed after 6 months and possibility of increase aligning with performance.
