Overview
A fast-growing, UK-based supplier of professional cleaning and janitorial solutions is seeking a Financial Controller to lead finance operations during a pivotal stage of growth. With turnover at £7–8 million and plans to scale to £15–20 million in the next 3–4 years, this newly created role will support a strategic leadership shift, enabling the Commercial Director to focus on wider growth initiatives. The business operates from its West Sussex HQ and warehouse, offering next-day delivery and a tech-enabled platform to serve clients in the facilities management and contract cleaning sectors. This is a hands-on leadership role with strong progression potential.
Base pay range
Competitive salary plus bonus and progression
Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day financial operations: bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, compliance
* Prepare management accounts and financial reports
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
* Strengthen systems, controls, and processes as the business scales
* Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership
* Manage and develop a Finance Assistant

* Recognised UK accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or strong experience
* Strong operational and strategic finance experience
* Hands-on mindset with a focus on accuracy and commercial awareness
