Sous Chef - Vibrant Bar & Restaurant, Liverpool City Centre
We are looking for an experienced Sous chef for on of Liverpool's most exciting venues. A theatrical bar and restaurant in the heart of the city, known for its creative menu, Incredible atmosphere, and excellent reputation as a destination for both food and drink lovers.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of a busy, high-volume kitchen
- Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service, stepping up as the senior chef on shift when required
- Maintaining consistently high food quality, presentation, and portion control across all dishes
- Training, mentoring, and developing junior chefs and kitchen porters
- Managing stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships to minimise waste and control costs
- Ensuring full compliance with food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety standards (including HACCP)
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
- Working closely with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth, high-quality service during busy periods
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior sous
- A passion for great food and a genuine interest in working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
- Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- A team player
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
