Overview
MCS are delighted to be working exclusively with a fast-growing, boutique legal services provider to recruit several Trainee Negotiators for their office in Greater Belfast. This is a standout opportunity to launch your career in the financial legal services sector, working directly with international clients on complex trading contracts. No prior experience required - full training will be provided by industry experts.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate a range of trading agreements such as ISDA Master Agreements, repurchase and lending agreements.
Regulatory Review: Ensure documentation aligns with key financial regulations.
Client Communication: Engage directly with clients and counterparties to reach agreement on legal documentation.
Risk Management: Identify legal and operational risks, ensuring all agreements reflect client risk policies.
Record Keeping: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation to meet compliance and audit standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* A degree (or higher) in Law, STEM, Finance, or another analytical discipline.
* Exceptional attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication.
* Proactive and self-motivated with a collaborative approach.
* A genuine interest in financial services and legal documentation.
Desirable Attributes
* Experience in contract drafting or financial/legal services (in-house or private practice).
* Understanding of market documentation such as ISDA, GMRA, or GMSLA.
