We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Swimming Site Leader for an August 2026 start. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a commercial mindset, and a hands‑on coaching approach, creating a safe, engaging environment where every swimmer is supported to improve and progress.
The School
Cheltenham Muscat opened in September 2021 and is Oman’s first, premium, British school, for boys and girls aged 3 to 18. The Person
This role combines leadership of the school’s swimming provision with delivery of both curriculum and academy programmes. The Swimming Leader will be responsible for daily teaching across the PE curriculum for pupils aged 3–18, while also leading, running, teaching and growing the Cheltenham Muscat Swimming Academy for both school students and the wider community, including children and adults.
Role Responsibilities
* Teaching and Delivery:
o Deliver high‑quality curriculum and academy swimming lessons to children at various stages of development, ensuring all lessons are engaging, safe and educational.
o Follow and implement the Swim England programme to guarantee the development of swimmers’ skills and technique.
o Ensure that all lessons are aligned with Cheltenham Muscat and Cognita ENRICH ME Aquatics’ overall mission, objectives and scheme of work.
* Leadership and Staff Management:
o Lead and manage a team of swimming teachers, ensuring that all staff are delivering lessons to the highest standard.
o Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the swim site.
o Provide support and mentorship to other staff members, offering feedback and guidance to help them develop professionally.
o Foster a positive and motivating environment for both staff and swimmers, promoting teamwork and high standards.
* Communication and Relationship Management:
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with school staff, parents, and the local school community to enhance communication and collaboration.
o Ensure that feedback about swimmers' progress is regularly communicated to parents and school staff.
o Act as the main point of contact for the school/site and effectively manage all communication related to swimming lessons.
* Growth and Development:
o Take responsibility for growing and developing the curriculum and academy swimming programme, aiming to increase participation and build a pipeline of swimmers for the squad programme.
o Collaborate with the P.E. team and Academy Manager to plan and implement strategies for site growth and improvement.
o Attend school and community events to engage with the wider community.
* Quality Assurance and Standards:
o Ensure that all lessons and activities are delivered in line with Cheltenham Muscat and Cognita ENRICH ME Aquatics’ policies and procedures.
o Be accountable for maintaining high standards of teaching, safety and swimmer progression at your site.
o Support in regular quality assurance checks and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
* Collaboration with the EnrichMe Aquatics Leadership Team:
o Regularly attend leadership meetings to contribute to the development of the overall aquatics programme.
* Administrative Responsibilities:
o Maintain accurate records of swimmer attendance, lesson plans and assessments.
o Ensure that all administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, swimmer feedback, and lesson reporting, are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
o Monitor and make movements at the required stages of the year.
o Deliver a quality and effective transition from Term to Term with a smooth roll over and effective communication to make it easy for parents and to retain swimmers.
Candidate Profile
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on relationship building with parents, school staff and swimmers.
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
* A passion for developing young swimmers and helping them achieve their full potential.
* Knowledge of Swim England’s swimming standards and ability to implement them in lessons.
* Proven experience for 3 years or more as a swimming teacher, with a strong understanding of teaching methodologies and swimming techniques.
* Previous experience in managing a venue, lessons and staff as well as the knowledge of how to grow a site.

* Risk Assessment: Ensure risk assessments are completed for areas within your responsibility. Seek training and feedback as necessary to mitigate the likelihood of harm from occurring.
* Culture: Act as a role model for Health & Safety and Safeguarding practices, promoting a positive and safe culture within the organisation.
