We are seeking a skilled Configuration Engineer to join our team supporting BAE Systems in the production of Integrated Support Bill of Materials (ISBOM). The successful candidate will be responsible for product configuration activities, supporting the processing of candidate items to Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU) level, and contributing to the production of critical engineering documentation. Key Responsibilities Product Configuration Activities Support the configuration of up to 3,200 candidate items to Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU) level Contribute to the production of Integrated Support Bill of Materials (ISBOM) Generate and validate engineering parts in accordance with established procedures Collaborate with the Identification Parts team on Part Information Packs (PIPs) and Equipment Information Packs (EIPs) Quality Assurance & Process Support Ensure all generated parts meet quality standards and specifications Support process streamlining initiatives with BAE team leads Participate in document approval processes for the wider Parts Engineering team Contribute to continuous improvement activities and process optimisation Reporting & Performance Monitoring Provide input for monthly progress reports and performance statistics Support quarterly reviews with BAE to identify issues, opportunities, and process bottlenecks Maintain accurate records of work completed and progress against targets Training & Development Participate in training programmes for new team members Stay current with relevant engineering standards and BAE Systems procedures Support knowledge transfer activities within the team Essential Requirements Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline) or equivalent experience Minimum 2 years' experience in product configuration or similar engineering role Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and management Understanding of engineering documentation and approval processes Technical Skills Proficiency in CAD software and configuration management tools Strong understanding of engineering parts classification and identification Knowledge of Lowest Replaceable Unit (LRU) concepts Familiarity with aerospace/defence industry standards and practices Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Time management skills with ability to meet deadlines Adaptability to changing priorities and requirements Desirable Requirements Previous experience working with BAE Systems or similar defence contractors Knowledge of aerospace supply chain management Experience with Integrated Support documentation Understanding of configuration management principles Professional engineering qualification or chartership Working Conditions Office-based environment with potential for hybrid working arrangements Collaboration with internal teams and external BAE Systems personnel May require occasional travel for meetings and training Standard working hours with flexibility as required by project demands Performance Measures Achievement of individual and team targets for item configuration Quality of parts generated and documentation produced Contribution to team performance metrics and monthly reporting Effective collaboration with BAE Systems stakeholders Participation in continuous improvement initiatives Allan Webb Ltd is an equal opportunities employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
