Health Care Assistant – Full Time 37.5 hours per week Location: Goring-on-Thames Salary: £28,000 – £29,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:00–20:30 or 20:00–08:30 on a rotating basis – no weekend work) The Opportunity We are currently seeking dedicated Health Care Assistants to join our skilled Nursing Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a unique healthcare setting focused on rehabilitation and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Support patients in accessing and engaging with rehabilitation services and treatments. Assist Health & Wellbeing Practitioners and Registered Nurses during patient admissions, providing orientation and settling-in support. Conduct basic nursing assessments including blood pressure, pulse, and weight monitoring, under clinical guidance. Record patient interactions and care accurately using our electronic systems (Pathway and Fitnote). Review and process electronic physiotherapy applications, flagging any health concerns for clinical review. Liaise with patients regarding test results and health queries, escalating as appropriate. Respond to patients’ physical care needs, including first aid, medical emergencies, and resuscitation when necessary. Facilitate relaxation sessions and workshops, deliver health checks, and provide general health advice. Ensure cleanliness of equipment in line with infection control protocols. Work a flexible rota including night shifts. What We’re Looking For Driving Requirement: Due to our location, you must have access to your own transport. Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) with up-to-date clinical skills. At least 2 years’ experience supporting adults in healthcare settings such as hospitals or care homes. Knowledge of infection control practices. Satisfactory DBS clearance. Own transport (our rural location is not accessible via public transport). Desirable: Experience in person-centred care and working independently within clinical competencies. Familiarity with data protection and patient confidentiality guidelines. Competence in Microsoft Outlook and electronic medical record systems. Passion for health education, with experience in running health promotion or mindfulness sessions.
