As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Securities Services Technology, specifically the Instruction Capture sub-line, your role will be pivotal in an agile team, focusing on the enhancement, design, and delivery of our innovative technology products. Your responsibilities will encompass the execution of software solutions, including the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of various components within a technical product, application, or system. Job responsibilities
1. Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
2. Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
3. Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
4. Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
5. Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
6. Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
7. Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

13. Hands-on experience in designing and developing mission critical applications using Core Java (11 or 21) and Java EE
14. Hands-on experience working on messaging technologies like JMS and MQ
15. Hands-on experience working on Java Frameworks such as Spring & Hibernate
16. Hands-on experience working on database technologies like Oracle or Sybase
17. Strong knowledge of design patterns and their application in problem solving.
18. Prior Experience with industry standard tools like Jenkins, JUnit, Maven and GIT
19. Experience of modern software development practices like TDD and Pair Programming
20. Detailed understanding of system development lifecycle, infrastructure best practices and risk management concepts.
21. Knowledge of business system interactions, infrastructure dependencies.
22. Experience of building and enhancing testing frameworks.
23. Strong ability to learn and apply new / emerging technologies.
24. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
25. Experience in financial services industry is preferred but not necessary
26. Exposure to React or other JavaScript frameworks a bonus
