Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a reputable secondary school in Bournemouth to appoint a Sociology Subject Lead for a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a vibrant and forward-thinking Sociology department within a school that places a strong emphasis on academic excellence, inclusion, and staff development. As Subject Lead, you will have a key role in developing the Sociology curriculum, supporting a dedicated Humanities team, and inspiring students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
* Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Have experience teaching Sociology at GCSE and A-Level
* Demonstrate a track record of strong classroom practice and student outcomes
* Have previous experience in a leadership or subject coordinator role, or be ready to take on their first leadership position
* Be passionate about Sociology and committed to delivering engaging, thought-provoking lessons
* Be eager to drive forward curriculum innovation and raise standards within the subject
* A welcoming and well-resourced Humanities department
* A curriculum that fosters critical thinking, discussion, and social awareness
