Purpose of the Role
As Framework HS&E Manager, you will be a key member of the framework senior leadership team, with overall accountability for health, safety and environmental performance. Reporting to the Head of HS&E, you will lead the development and delivery of the HS&E strategy across the framework, ensuring consistent, compliant and continually improving standards.
You will work closely with internal teams, clients, supply chain partners and regulators, while contributing to the wider HS&E strategy for the Environment Division and Galliford Try Group.
Key Accountabilities
1. Lead and deliver the framework HS&E strategy, driving continual improvement across safety, health and environmental performance.
2. Champion Galliford Try’s behavioural programme ‘Challenging Beliefs, Affecting Behaviours’ across sites and leadership teams.
3. Own, implement and assure the framework HS&E management system, aligned to client and regulatory requirements.
4. Develop, monitor and report HS&E performance metrics and KPIs, providing strategic insight and direction.
5. Engage, influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the full project lifecycle.
6. Lead, develop and mentor the HS&E team, fostering a high-performance, learning-focused culture.
7. Drive risk mitigation and best practice to protect people, the business and the environment.
About You
8. Proven senior-level HS&E leadership experience within infrastructure, water or a similar regulated environment.
9. Demonstrated success in developing and delivering HS&E strategies and management systems.
10. Strong leadership capability with experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
11. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, from site teams to senior leadership.
12. Commercially aware, analytical and confident operating in complex, fast-paced environments.
13. Strong knowledge of HS&E legislation, systems, risk management and performance reporting.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
14. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety
15. Relevant senior HS&E experience in a comparable industry
16. Proficient in Microsoft Office
17. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable:
18. Membership of IOSH or IIRSM (TechIOSH minimum)
19. CMIOSH or working towards
