General Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team in the United Kingdom. As a Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in providing patient-centered care by independently prescribing medications and managing the pharmaceutical aspects of patient treatment. A Pharmacist Leader works to drive the business forward and with enthusiasm aims to meet the targets, aims and goals set by the Company both professionally and commercially and to provide the customer with outstanding customer service, actively developing and promoting enhanced and other clinical services available within the location of the pharmacy and developing the professional side of the business.
Our Pharmacists are involved in maintaining and improving the health of our customers by providing advice on over-the-counter medicines, the dispensing of prescriptions and the provision of public health services.
Main Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
Medication Management: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement pharmaceutical care plans for patients, ensuring the safe, appropriate, and effective use of medications.
Patient Consultation: Conduct comprehensive patient consultations to assess symptoms, medical history, and other relevant information to determine the most suitable treatment options.
Treatment Monitoring: Regularly review and monitor patients' progress, adjusting medication regimens as necessary and providing appropriate advice and support.
Medication Information: Provide accurate and up-to-date medication information to patients, ensuring they understand the purpose, potential side effects, and proper administration of prescribed medications.
Adherence Support: Educate and counsel patients on medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to promote optimal treatment outcomes.
Collaborative Practice: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and other pharmacists, to ensure seamless coordination of care and enhance interdisciplinary teamwork.
Documentation and Record-keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all patient consultations, assessments, prescribed medications, and other relevant information in accordance with legal and professional standards.
Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of current pharmaceutical knowledge, trends, and best practices by engaging in continuous professional development activities and attending relevant conferences or training sessions.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant legal, ethical, and professional standards, including pharmacy regulations, data protection, and patient confidentiality.
Team Management: Provide leadership and guidance to a pharmacy team, including pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring efficient workflow, effective communication, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Dispensing Oversight: Oversee the dispensing process to ensure accuracy, compliance with legal requirements, and adherence to quality standards, while maintaining patient safety as a top priority.
Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance measures to monitor and evaluate the accuracy and efficiency of dispensing operations, including regular audits and performance reviews.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with current pharmacy regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including the safe storage and handling of medications.
Inventory Management: Oversee the management of pharmacy inventory, including stock monitoring, ordering, and maintaining appropriate stock levels, while minimizing wastage and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Staff Training and Development: Identify training needs within the pharmacy team and facilitate training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of staff members, ensuring consistent professional development.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Registration: Current registration as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in the UK.
Independent Prescribing Qualification: Successful completion of an accredited Independent Prescribing course recognized by the GPhC.
Experience: Previous experience as a prescribing pharmacist is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of clinical pharmacy practice and the pharmaceutical care process.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and collaborate with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
Clinical Knowledge: Profound knowledge of pharmacotherapy, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical care principles, including the ability to interpret and evaluate clinical data.
Decision-making Abilities: Strong clinical decision-making skills to assess patient needs, diagnose conditions, and prescribe appropriate medications independently.
Patient-centric Approach: Demonstrated commitment to providing patient-centered care and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services.
IT Competency: Proficiency in using pharmacy management software, electronic health records (EHRs), and other relevant digital tools.
Professionalism: Strict adherence to ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
Continuous Learning: Eagerness to engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.

No Smoking Policy
