Accounts and Tax Manager
Lymington, Hampshire
Butler Rose are excited to be working with a leading accountancy practice whilst they look to hire an Accounts & Tax Manager in Lymington. This is a mixed role which will include technical accounts & taxation work, whilst still being client facing and commercial. Overseeing the financial management for General Practitioner (GP) clients, the role will involve the following duties:
* Managing/reviewing GP accounts
* Reviewing and submitting superannuation certificates
* Handling tax matters
* Advising clients on drawings and withdrawals, and submitting annual estimates on PCSE
* Handling NHS Pension Scheme requirements
* Liaising with the NHS to obtain Annual Allowance Pension Savings Statements (AAPSS), reviewing and calculating Annual Allowance positions, and completing all associated RPPS reporting and compliance work
Key Responsibilities
* Tax Compliance
o Prepare and file tax returns accurately and within agreed deadlines.
o Maintain compliance with relevant tax regulations and internal quality standards.
o Identify, investigate, and resolve tax-related issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
o Maintain clear, accurate, and complete working papers to support tax computations and filings.
* Client Service
o Communicate professionally with clients, manage expectations, and provide timely responses.
o Build strong client relationships to enhance satisfaction and retention.
* Team Collaboration
o Work effectively with UK and India teams to achieve objectives.
o Provide advice, problem-solving support, and training to colleagues on tax return processes.
o Be approachable and available to assist team members and clients.
* Operational Excellence
o Use to-do lists and prioritization techniques to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
o Respond promptly to emails and follow up on assigned work.
o Support process improvements for better client service delivery.
* Continuous Development
o Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
o Seek guidance from the director when needed and work on building confidence.
o Contribute to team development and assist in onboarding/training colleagues.
Qualifications
* Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience in tax compliance and client service.
* Familiarity with UK tax regulations and filing processes.
