The role Managing and auditing disease control programmes for enzootic (endemic) and epizootic (high-risk) diseases. Ensuring compliance with animal welfare standards and traceability requirements through inspections, enforcement and cross-compliance checks. Supporting trade facilitation, ensuring animals and products meet export requirements. Providing veterinary expertise across specialisms such as, but not limited to, cattle, pigs, sheep, aquatics, avian species, equines, felines, canines, reptiles and amphibians, zoological or exotic companion animals. Epizootic Disease preparedness, detection and eradication. · Establish and maintain productive working relationships with DAERA’s Divisional Veterinary Officers (DVOs) in the offices where the FVO works. This also includes their representatives and other stakeholders (Government Departments, Local Authorities, etc.) and farmers, as needed. Skills/Qualifications Required and Requisites Veterinary medicine degree. As the requests require a fast mobilisation, the candidates will need to hold the following qualifications per role (of those listed above): o Veterinary medicine degree. Full membership of The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Have a minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience working with farmed animals or in veterinary public health. Candidate must have the right to work and live in the UK (UK National, Settlement or pre-settlement status, any other), possess a dependant visa or be eligible for a Skilled Worker Visa. Meet medical requirements and have undergone a tuberculosis assessment, i.e., they can demonstrate TB immunity. Possess a driving licence and means of transport (car) right after the training period. Terms and Conditions offered for successful candidates: -Type contract: A permanent full-time contract, with a four-week probationary period. -Salary: Starting at £53,000 -£ 55.000 per year - Holidays: 22 standard days plus 8 public holiday days, pro rata upon entry. Paid holiday entitlement increases incrementally to 25 days after 3 years. - Overtime: £28.00 an hour; - Normal working days: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day. - Hours of work: Contract for 37.5 hours each week. - Mileage allowance (claims should follow HMRC rules, applicable only when working at a site other than your base location AND travelling a greater distance): 45p per mile for mileage exceeding this limit. - We offer comprehensive paid training both before you start and during your deployment to support you every step of the way. - Salary reviews are conducted annually on the anniversary of your employment with Mistev EHC, primarily based on performance. They start with a 1% increase and are capped at 3%, with rewards for outstanding performance. -Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) and Improve International's OV Conference. Mistev EHC also provides further training for employees. -Substantial relocation package. Mandatory requirements for the candidate: 1. Membership in the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS); 3. Valid driving licence; 4. Right to work in the United Kingdom, OR a transferable visa, OR eligibility to work under a visa; 5. Can confirm there are no convictions and that the individual can pass security checks and obtain clearance.
