Salary: £12.80 - £13.80 per hour, depending on experience
Perm contract: 12 hour = 2 shifts per week, available on nights and days
The Donnington in Newbury focuses on round‑the‑clock support for a wide range of needs. Care provision includes nursing or residential care, convalescence and respite, and palliative care support and assistance for adults with Parkinson’s. Residents can stay for a week, month, or longer—providing families peace of mind. The home offers a dedicated respite room that can be booked up to six months in advance.
With scenic countryside surroundings, this converted red‑brick Victorian house provides comfortable social environments, light and airy lounges, en‑suite bedrooms, and on‑site therapies. The chef prepares a menu that pleases each resident, with all food home‑cooked and nutritionally balanced. Activities include art classes, musical recitals, summer fetes, and other annual events.
Key Responsibilities
* Support residents with a wide range of requirements from companionship to personal care.
* Observe and manage residents’ behaviour, documenting and reporting any changes in accordance with legislation.
* Support residents’ nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.
* Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.
* Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory and legal requirements.
What We're Looking For
* Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.
