Role overview
We are seeking a Commercial Gas Engineer to carry out service, repair, maintenance and installation of gas systems, in line with current regulations and company standards. The engineer will be involved in heating and plumbing tasks, with some installations and plant room work, across commercial premises.
Responsibilities
* PPM and reactive servicing of gas appliances and heating systems
* Repair, maintenance, and installation of gas systems; plant rooms and boilers
* Carry out gas safety inspections and issue certificates as required
* Record and update service and testing documentation and gas safety records
* Procure stock and materials through approved systems
* Respond to service calls promptly and work across multiple sites
* Maintain company vehicle, tools and stock; participate in on-call rota where applicable
* Adhere to safety and regulatory requirements; complete required training and certifications
* Coordinate with site supervisors and coordinators and maintain clear communication with clients
* Desirable: renewables experience (ground/air source heat pumps) and experience with catering gas installations
Requirements
* Valid ACS commercial gas qualifications (e.g., CCN1, COCN1, CODNCO1; commercial modules such as CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1)
* Experience working on commercial gas systems; mobile/facilities environment
* Knowledge of Gas Safety and Health & Safety regulations
* Full UK driving licence; access to a company vehicle where offered
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing, Heating, or Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
* Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and communication skills
* Willingness to participate in on-call rota (where required)
* Commercial catering experience and welding/installation skills may be advantageous
Salary and Benefits
* Salary up to £59,000 depending on experience (examples in postings); other packages vary by employer
