Our client, a well-respected and ambitious secondary school based in Stamford, Lincolnshire, is seeking an inspiring and experienced History Curriculum Lead to join their dedicated Humanities department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to take the next step in their career by leading curriculum development and raising standards across History teaching.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the direction of the subject, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and supporting both staff and students to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and develop the History curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
2. Model outstanding classroom practice and support the development of teaching strategies across the team
3. Monitor student progress, implement interventions, and ensure high achievement
4. Work collaboratively with other subject leaders and senior leadership to drive improvement
5. Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment and extracurricular activities
6. Maintain a strong understanding of subject pedagogy and curriculum trends
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
2. Proven experience teaching History at secondary level
3. Strong leadership and curriculum planning experience
4. A track record of raising attainment and student progress
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. A commitment to inclusive education and continuous school improvement
