We are looking for a Senior Manager of Engineering to join our Christchurch team!
In this role, you will be responsible to lead the Mobility and Industrial Team to ensure delivery of all technical deliverables (external and internal) to cost, quality and schedule. Critically the Senior Manager of Engineering shall ensure that appropriate processes are implemented to ensure the management of technical risk and that appropriate measures are used to evaluate and monitor technical performance

Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance
Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of safety, price, quality and delivery targets and which will enable the company to function and compete effectively in the market
Ensure the appropriate systems and procedures are established, used and developed, to deliver best practice in engineering
Develop and maintain appropriate SQEP levels for all engineering functions
Ensure technical gateway reviews are regularly and effectively conducted to drive, plan, monitor and control the delivery of engineering solutions to schedule, budget and to the agreed quality level
Escalate and manage technical risks and issues and perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
Identify and deploy technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement if external resources as required
Degree level (or equivalent) in engineering discipline
Demonstrable experience in leading and developing multi-disciplined teams • Some experience of financial management, including budgeting and financial reporting
Strategic thinker with clear analytical skills and the ability to balance long-term and short-term priorities

We develop and manufacture electronic throttle controls, transmission shifters and sensors for commercial off-highway equipment and heavy trucks, helping to address the long-term trend towards attaining higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions. We also supply operator controls and advanced motor controllers for hybrid and electric vehicles, such as buses, forklift trucks, pallet stackers, wheelchairs, and rehabilitation chairs.
