Overview
Maintenance Technician role at Nijhuis Saur Industries UK and Ireland. The O&M technician will work on a day shift basis and be responsible for safely operating and monitoring the electrical, mechanical, instrument and process equipment at a brand-new Wastewater Treatment Plant located within the site of an internationally recognised customer. The operator will monitor and control the plant, implement operational changes, prepare the plant for Planned Maintenance tasks, and maintain analytical data in a computer-based system to record plant performance. The role includes first line preventative maintenance on equipment with the support of a Computerised Maintenance Management System, including cleaning process instruments, changing duty pumps, and ensuring assets are in good condition. Training will be provided. Most work is dayshift Monday – Friday, with occasional out-of-hours coverage and on-call availability to respond to alarms.
Duties And Responsibilities
* Work within the client and Company Quality, Health & Safety & Environment (QHSE) systems
* Visible ownership on HSE issues at all levels both in the client organisation and internally
* Promptly raise any issues which could affect both the client and internally
* Establish and maintain professional relationships with customer personnel, Company employees and sub-contractor staff
* Innovate in the workplace to deliver Continuous improvement and exploit opportunities
* Identify faults, identify solutions & carry out basic repairs
* Gather all systems information and complete plant logs to understand the function and operation of the WWTP
* Carry out laboratory water analysis and promptly report any deviations to Site Management and Technical Team
* Utilise plant information to identify changes in system performance and/or potential operational problems and evaluate and make initial recommendations to return plant to its optimum operating condition
* Development and maintenance of good housekeeping practices
* Work unsupervised with a proactive attitude
* Develop good team working behaviours with the client and other Company staff
* Undergo training as required and identify training needs
* Lead by example
* Take on additional responsibilities as the company may reasonably require
Required Skills / Qualifications
* Ability and knowledge to complete basic repairs and maintenance on process equipment
* A working knowledge of running electro-mechanical plant
* Computer literate
* Ability to work on own or as part of a team
* Ability to work under pressure
* Proactive attitude
* Effective task management

Desirable
* Experience of working directly with sub-contractors
* Ability to interpret technical information to affect changes on the plant
* Operational and maintenance knowledge of wastewater treatment plant

* Training in Environmental Health and Safety
* Time served Technician/Fitter/Electrician/Mechanic

* The salary is £37,000 per year, depending on your professional experience
