Join to apply for the Assistant Project Manager role at MWH Treatment.
We are looking to strengthen our Construction and Project delivery teams with Assistant Project Managers assigned to a project or section within our programme of work.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support with managing a single project or section on a larger project. The APM will lead and have full responsibility for their project or section, ensuring it is completed safely, on programme, within budget and meets all contract specifications. The APM will also support the PM in managing the client, customer, and all stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities
* Promote exceptional SHEQ standards to direct and subcontracted workforce.
* Ensure customer requirements are satisfied to enhance customer perception and satisfaction.
* Maintain practical knowledge of technical disciplines involved in delivering water and wastewater design and build projects.
* Administer the PMP at all stages of project delivery, from tender handover to final completion.
* Understand all aspects of the client contract and constraints and cascade to the team and supply chain.
* Work with the PM and QS to ensure delivery to programme and within budget.
* Become proficient in the use of the client’s digital platforms.
* Ensure that records referred to in the PEP are complete and available at contract completion.
* Report site non-conformities and identify approximate costs.
* Ensure project outputs are cascaded and communicated to design and construction project team members.
* Manage accountability of internal and external stakeholders regarding programme obligations.
* Escalate key issues and risks to the Project Manager or QS with mitigation plans.
* Quality management and reporting to meet client KPI’s; manage continuous improvement against contractual KPIs.
* Lead project governance from a client-facing perspective and progress contractually required documentation with the PM.
* Assist in resource profiling of the project programme and team.
Essential qualifications
* Project Management experience supporting multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, including smaller standalone projects within larger schemes.
* Proven track record delivering £1-10M projects or project sections.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering-related discipline.
* Excellent oral and written communication, able to work with clients, stakeholders, and end users.
* Delivery-driven with ability to set targets and manage multi-disciplinary teams to meet time, cost and quality objectives.
* Strategic, operational, technical and management skills.
* Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE; ability to negotiate and administer.
* Ability to present at Governance Reviews in a leadership capacity.
* Risk & Opportunity Management experience.
* Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
Desirable qualifications
* Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants.
* Chartered with an engineering, commercial, or construction institution.
* SMSTS / IOSH;
* CSCS Level 6+
