The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Bolton Councils Licensing Team.
The team plays an integral role in the licensing and compliance of the taxi industry, and premises licensed for alcohol, regulated entertainment, late night refreshment, gambling, sexual entertainment, scrap metal, street trading, second hand dealers and charity collections.
The role is to assist in the efficient and effective administration and processing of applications for the licences and permits issued by the Council. Ensuring that the legal requirements and council conditions which apply to the various licences and permits are met.
You will also be responsible for the handling of monies, dealing with customers, dealing with complex enquiries offering advice and direction and ensuring service delivery is always of a high standard.
About You:
You must be IT proficient and able to produce reports for analysis. You must be able to respond to changing demands flexibly, as well as being able to manage and prioritise your own case work, working to specific timescales, where accuracy and recording of information is crucial.
You’ll be experienced in dealing with customers face to face and over the telephone, with the skills needed to deal with difficult or emotional customers appropriately and sympathetically. You’ll also have experience of money handling and banking reconciliation, working to a high level of accuracy.
Knowledge of the relevant legislation and experience working in the licence field for a Local Authority is preferred but not essential.
