Overview
Applicants are invited for one Consultant post in Infectious Diseases (8 PAs) and Acute Medicine (2 PAs) at Nottingham University Hospitals. The post encompasses both Queens Medical Centre and the City Campus of Nottingham University Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to inpatient care at City Campus for Infectious Diseases and provide outreach work to Queens Medical Centre and out of hours on call, in rotation with existing Consultants.
* This post combines periods of time in Acute Medicine at Queens Medical Centre (2 PAs) with Infectious Diseases inpatient care at City Campus (8 PAs) and outreach time reviewing patients referred to Infectious Diseases prior to transfer to the City Campus; there will also be clinic duties at City Campus when on duty.
* Assist with the flow and progress of patients through earlier specialist review via outreach work at QMC.
On-call and Category
The on-call commitment for Infectious Diseases included in this post will be 1:7.5, supported by Infectious Diseases Junior staff. This post is deemed to be in Category B and an allowance is paid for being on-call, which is currently 2%. Recent diary calculations for weekend on-call work indicate that this amounts to approximately 0.6 PA.
