Ground Control is at the forefront of the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, delivering innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions across the UK. We are rapidly expanding our Energy Solutions Team and are looking for a motivated Junior Estimator to support on-street and off-street EV charging projects. This is an exciting opportunity to grow within a forward-thinking team while gaining hands-on experience in the fast-moving EV sector.
This role is perfect for someone looking to kickstart their career in EV estimation. You’ll gain exposure to a variety of projects, work with experienced estimators, and play a direct role in shaping the UK’s EV infrastructure. Role Overview
As a Junior Estimator, you will assist in preparing accurate project cost estimates, contributing to the delivery of EV infrastructure projects. You will support senior estimators while developing your technical knowledge of electrical and civil aspects of EV installations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing cost estimates for EV projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.
* Conduct quantity take-offs from technical drawings, CAD models, and specifications.
* Support senior estimators in tender submissions, bid preparation and pricing reviews.
* Maintain up-to-date cost databases for materials, components, and labour.
* Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to validate assumptions and gather project details.
* Monitor market trends in EV components and technologies to ensure accurate cost forecasting.
* Assist in the preparation of project cost reports and documentation for management review.

Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Civil or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Understanding of cost estimation principles and quantity take-offs.
Familiarity with CAD drawings and technical specifications.
Basic knowledge of electrical and civil works, ideally related to EV infrastructure.
Proficient in MS Excel; experience with estimation software such as Bluebeam is a plus.
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
