I'm currently recruiting for a capable and enthusiastic Legal Assistant / Paralegal or Secretary to join our busy Conveyancing department. This role involves providing high-quality administrative support to our lawyers, enabling them to focus on more technical legal matters. You will play a key part in maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to a positive and professional working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handling client enquiries and preparing straightforward legal documents
* Typing correspondence, managing files, and ordering searches and Land Registry documents
* Preparing files for billing and screening incoming calls
* Sorting and prioritising post, emails, and messages
* Providing reception cover and liaising with clients and third parties
* Upholding LEXCEL standards and Law Society requirements
* Understanding basic Solicitors Accounts Rules relating to client monies
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in legal work
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong administrative abilities and attention to detail
* Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* Collaborative approach and sound decision-making skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems
* Flexible, organised, and able to manage a varied workload
Desirable:
* Background in conveyancing
* Experience within a busy legal team
