Job Description
We are now recruiting a Project Engineer to be based at the Peterborough plant facility.
We offer a competitive salary from £35,000 up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The Peterborough facility has two functional areas: an engineering facility that designs and builds mobile water treatment equipment, and a plant that regenerates ion exchange resin and works with cutting edge membrane technologies to provide mobile water treatment equipment for customers.
We are a friendly site, big enough to give you a good introduction to the corporate world, but small enough that you will know everyone that you work with and will understand the importance of building good working relationships.
The Project Engineer will work for the Engineering Manager and will be responsible for key roles listed below in the Peterborough facility and Global Asset design engineering. Outgoing and interested in how things work, you will have a natural curiosity that will prompt you to explore where we could be working smarter, service in mind design approach, faster and better, and we will see the output from this in cost savings, smart solutions, quality, and on-time delivery.
Flexible and with great people skills, you won’t mind helping out with other tasks when we are busy and it’s an ‘all hands’ situation; You will understand early on that our customers matter to us. You will spend your time across the office environment, in the plant and on the shop floor, with occasional site visits/customer meetings; working with our teams and growing in skills and confidence as you progress toward Lead Project Engineer.
Key roles
1. Lead project engineering of Mobile Assets, Water treatment systems for Build, Operate, and Maintain plants and Mobile fleets upgrades.
2. Lead outsource engineering and work closely to get detailed designs and drawings done.
3. Work on programmes in SolidWorks, AutoCAD drawing updates, reviews, and creations.
4. Work very closely with the design team to complete drafting the designs.
5. Support new asset testing and QC in the plants and field.
6. Material and Equipment selection and sizing for the designs.
7. Support Control design and PLC programming and troubleshooting.
8. Develop Design and sizing documents creation, review, and approvals.
9. Manage customer deliverables for customer-facing projects.
10. Work in SAP business tool: Material Master, Inventory, drawing, and BOM.
11. Support Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, MOC engineering actions, and HAZOPs.
12. Provide support for finding suppliers and parts; Technical review of the quotes.
13. Lead Manufacturing Engineering supports and drawing management to shop floors in Peterborough, Wuxi, Norfolk, Minnetonka, Guelph, and other build locations.
14. Offer extended support for Commercial Engineering team, Mobile PM team, and Plant supports.
15. Training/Coaching Engineering interns, new starters, and outsource engineering.
16. Site visits and as-built surveys.
Qualifications
B.Sc / M.Eng / M.Sc Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering.
Work Experience: 2-3 years minimum work experience / Industrial Placement training in the Water Industry.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge: Electrical, PLC, SAP, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
