Regeneration Officer – Go Construct
Deliver programmes designed to improve and renovate local areas and buildings, ensuring they meet modern design, health and safety standards and current usage demands.
Responsibilities
* Negotiating
* Maintaining heritage while designing for the future
* Financial management
* Finding flexible solutions to problems
* Communicating with the local community, stakeholders and senior management on project progress
* Implementing plans for sustainability
* Assessing environmental impacts
* Managing consultations with landowners and developers
* Using feedback to shape proposals
* Liaising with other departments
* Working alongside the local council, relevant landowners and other developers
* Ensuring that each regeneration project is fit for purpose
* Creating project briefs for commissioning
* Identifying key priorities that need addressing
How to Become a Regeneration Officer
There are several routes you can take:
* University – An undergraduate degree in construction, engineering, civil engineering or environmental studies, with 2–3 A levels or equivalent.
* College / Training Provider – Courses in civil engineering, construction, the built environment or business studies, requiring 4–5 GCSEs (grades 9–4, A*–C) and possibly 1–2 A levels.
* Apprenticeship – A town‑planning apprenticeship with a local authority, open to anyone over 16. You will work full time, splitting hours between on‑job experience and training.
* Possibly need a CSCS card if working on a construction site.

Qualifications

Salary
Expected salary ranges based on experience:
* Newly trained officers: £26,000
* Experienced officers: up to £48,000
Salaries depend on location, employer, responsibility level, overtime and completed training routes.
