Job Summary
We have an exciting part time opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. Ideally the applicant should also be a car driver due to the location of the prison. The prison holds a capacity of around 1,100 and has a varied and complex population.

Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £34,428 - £41,659 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
* Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed
* Assess patients' health needs using an evidence‑based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge
* Provide advice, support and information to individuals and manage a case load of patients
* Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
* Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, liaising with prescribers as required
* Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to inspire excellence
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision and evidence‑based care
* Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi‑disciplinary teams and supporting each other

Qualifications
* Qualified Mental Health Nurse – NMC registration
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Experience of working with patients face to face who have complex mental health conditions
* Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
* Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (not essential but ideal)
