Derbyshire County Cricket Club are recruiting an Assistant Physiotherapist to work with our Professional and Academy playing squads.

Working closely with the Lead Physiotherapist, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Head of Cricket, Bowling/Batting Coaches and Head of Talent Pathway Coach, you will develop challenging and realistic injury reduction and performance development programmes for individual players. You will be predominantly responsible for in-season (April-September) trauma and injury management of the Second XI and Academy squads but have opportunity to work with the First XI throughout the calendar year.

An opportunity exists where the successful candidate may seek additional clinical hours around their Derbyshire County Cricket Club commitments at the onsite sports and musculoskeletal private physiotherapy clinic, allowing both an additional income stream, and diversity in patient population.

Responsibilities:

* Assessment and rehabilitation of injured Academy players (both Men's & Women)
* Provide match-day care for Second XI (both home and away) and Home U18 fixtures
* Report back in a timely manner to Lead Physiotherapist/wider coaching team on player injuries and prognoses
* Assist in screening, monitoring and injury prevention programmes, working alongside the Lead Physiotherapist and Strength and Conditioning Coaches
* Appropriate record keeping of all physiotherapy interventions and notes on the Cricket Squad system
* Collation of all relevant injury and monitoring data
* General department management and administration
* Work with and support the development of physiotherapy and sports therapy interns
* Perform responsibilities in line with the medical aspects of the ECB Science and Medicine audit (annual)
* Complete any training modules as required by ECB regulations or CPD

Competencies:

Essential

* ECB Advanced Life Support/Pitch-side Qualification (possibility of acquiring this through the Club)
* Registration and current membership with the Health and Care Professions Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
* Effective communication skills and inter-personal skills
* The ability to work as part of a high-performance team and to work under pressure are crucial to this role

Desirable

* Have a minimum of one years' post-graduate experience with at least one year spent in a professional cricket or equivalent full-time professional sporting environment
* Hold a CPD Portfolio demonstrating a sports medicine/sports physiotherapy bias
* Sports massage and taping qualifications/experience
* Be adept in the use of Microsoft Excel and electronic medical databases
