Are you an experienced consultant passionate about shipping, navigation, and offshore renewables? Do you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, leading projects, and mentoring teams while shaping safer and more sustainable maritime operations? We’re looking for a Principal Maritime Consultant to join NASH Maritime. NASH are specialists in shipping, navigation, and maritime risk, delivering expert advice across offshore renewables, ports, harbours, marine terminals, and oil & gas facilities. Combining practical maritime experience with data-driven insights, we provide innovative, evidence-based solutions across the full project lifecycle, from planning and site selection to decommissioning. As a Principal Maritime Consultant, you’ll apply your expertise to assess potential impacts to shipping and navigation, lead on navigation risk assessments, author report chapters, manage projects, and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. You’ll also mentor and support junior staff, contribute to business development, and take responsibility for delivering high-quality, impactful maritime projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, including offshore wind developments, and to play a leading role in driving innovation and excellence in maritime safety and sustainability. To be successful in this role, you’ll need: Professional experience in a consultancy environment or as a maritime professional (e.g., scientist, engineer, harbour master, VTS operator); Previous experience in the maritime industry, including shipping, ports, offshore renewables, or related sectors; A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., science, environmental sciences, engineering, geography, or risk/mathematics ) or equivalent qualifications such as Master Mariner; Strong understanding of maritime risk, navigation, and regulatory requirements; Experience in client liaison and stakeholder management; Excellent report writing, oral communication, and organisational skills; Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with teams and clients; Experience bidding for work or contributing to tenders; Bonus points for: Experience leading or coordinating marine technical reports and navigation risk assessments Master’s degree or higher Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), licensing, and consenting Strong industry network and profile Membership or chartered status (or progression towards) with a relevant professional institution At NASH Maritime, our people are our greatest asset.
