Job Summary
The Commercial Officer will provide commercial expertise and support to the specific customer local team. Responsibilities include managing and resolving commercial issues, supporting bids and proposals, and informing Program IPTs of contractual obligations. Acts as the first escalation point for customer purchase order or contractual issues.
Job Responsibilities
* Interface with IPT and customers regarding contractual obligations and limits.
* Support new bidding activities, including business modeling and commercial proposals.
* Manage and maintain the company’s order book according to customer purchase orders.
* Maintain commercial/contractual correspondence files.
* Track key performance metrics and contribute to internal reports.
* Support negotiations with customers on changes.
* Ensure overdue debts are minimized and payments are made per terms.
* Support project review structures, analyze customer demand, and update demand as needed.
* Identify opportunities to improve the business case.
* Adhere to program management and commercial standards and contribute to process improvements.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing contracts role within manufacturing.
* 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in aerospace.
* Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in aerospace industry preferred.
* Ability to work under FAR regulations and program requirements.
* Strong organizational, customer relations, multitasking, and team skills.
* Ability to interpret contracts and identify potential issues.
* Proficient in MS Office Suite.
* Experience managing multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.
* Attention to detail and structured working approach.
* Self-motivated and self-supportive.
* Experience with aerospace components.
* Basic accounting knowledge.
* Ability to prepare and deliver executive presentations.
* Intermediate Excel skills.
* Proven customer interface and communication skills.
