Job Title – Sourcing and Sustainability Coordinator

Hours – Full time 40hrs.

Reporting to – Rachel Hoxha (Sourcing Manager – Line Manager for the Sourcing & Sustainability team)

JD Group is committed to sourcing products in collaboration with strategic partners, long standing established suppliers who support private label growth and in return are treated ethically and competitively under our agile sourcing strategy.

Working within the JD private label team at the head office in Bury, you will be part of a busy design and development office and interact with external departments and businesses across the Group.

JD private labels are an integral part of the JD retail offering, and these labels are designed, developed, and manufactured in-house, through our transparent supply chain, our teams on these labels are targeted with the growth of sustainability throughout the business.


Responsibilities


1. Product & Supplier Management

Propose new suppliers for cross-costing and sampling in line with the sourcing strategy.

Carry out cross-costing and sampling with new suppliers/countries, working with Product Development to provide comprehensive sample feedback.

Work independently and take initiative on supplier emails and queries.

Build relationships and maintain open dialogue with suppliers, ensuring they are supported with new and upcoming projects and that performance is communicated.

Organise and attend Own Brand seasonal sourcing meetings; follow up on supplier feedback, performance, and source-base gaps, and introduce new sources.


2. Compliance, Standards & Legislation

Assist and consult the sourcing manager/senior leadership on upcoming legislation, geopolitical issues, and global developments affecting sourcing, production, and suppliers.

Understand the factory ethical code of conduct and onboarding procedures.

Key stakeholder in the implementation and development of the Digital Product Passport platform in line with UK/EU legislation.

Understand global shipping and duty rate changes and challenges.

Manage the tracking of recycled material certificates within the supply chain, performing due diligence to validate recycled material usage on ATMA.

Assist in tracking and managing Better Cotton transactions on the Better Cotton Platform and contribute to Better Cotton projects.


3. Reporting & Data Management

Responsible for updating, maintaining, and communicating the Amber Alert CAP.

Deliver sourcing team reporting, including external supplier performance reports and internal Own Brand analysis.

Support Own Brand global growth by providing detailed country profiles for new territories.


4. Quality & Claims Management

Manage the QC rejected stock claim process, ensuring the appropriate exit route for stock, liaising with suppliers on claims and quality, and collaborating with QC and Product Development.

Understand QC AQL processes and assist QC in implementing them with suppliers.


5. Digital Platforms & Innovation

Work with third-party partners to onboard and train suppliers/facilities onto the Digital Product Passport transparency platform.

Serve as a key stakeholder in implementing 3D and AI across the Own Brand department, including maintaining and scanning the fabric library for material transparency.

Use Canva (or similar tools) to build and deliver presentations to the wider department.


6. Training, Mentoring & Stakeholder Support

Assist in mentoring and training within the sourcing team.

Support Sourcing Partners in delivering the departmental global strategy.

Attend, report and follow up on industry events.
