Position Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
Shift pattern: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.
Duration: Fixed-term post for 2 years.
The Glasgow Clinical Research Facility (GCRF) incorporates Clinical Research Facilities at numerous hospitals. GCRF is committed to supporting research projects across NHS GG&C.
The GCRF staff comprise a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive clinical research support to investigators from study start-up to archiving. The core disciplines within the team are:
* Clinical (Research Nurses/Medical)
* Project Management
* Education, Training and Quality
* Clerical and Administration
Responsibilities
You will be expected to work as part of the Glasgow Clinical Research Facility Administration Team and maintain good working relationships with:
* Clinical Research Team (medical, nursing, allied health)
* Technical Staff
* Research Sponsors
* NHS Research & Innovation Department
* Research Ethics Department
* Participants/Relatives/Carers
Qualifications
Required:
* Reception/administration experience
* Good keyboard skills and PC proficiency
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
* Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
* Ability to work independently and use own initiative
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Willingness to undergo training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and acquire skills such as data protection, health and safety
Desirable:
* Knowledge of health records
* Secretarial or administration qualifications or equivalent experience
