Kiddie Capers Childcare Hurstpierpoint is set in a small local village with access to local parks and a recreation ground surrounding it. We provide forest school sessions that allow the children to discover and explore the outdoors, promoting children's confidence and independence, as well as allowing them to risk take in a safe environment. We have a specific baby area for children between 0–2 years, providing them with enabling resources and sensory materials to learn and flourish. Our preschool area is designed to meet the needs of children aged 2-5 years, providing stimulating and creative environments for them to continue to grow and learn new skills. We also provide resources for them to become ready for their school transition. Our outdoor garden space is enclosed and private with many opportunities for developing understanding of the world and its surroundings including a sand pit, baby garden, kitchen area and we also take trips around the village using local transport and exploring our surrounding areas.
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and Early Years education for young children. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. You will follow the EYFS framework to support children's individual development and build strong relationships with both families and colleagues.
Main Duties:
* Provide immediate care for every child and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities
* Act as a key person, monitoring and recording children's progress
* Maintain up-to-date Learning Journeys and individual planning
* Support personal care, hygiene, and mealtimes
* Promote positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
* Follow safeguarding procedures and monitor child wellbeing
* Ensure the room is clean, safe, and well-resourced
* Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies
* Encourage free flow play to support independence and confidence
* Participate in training and ongoing professional development
Requirements:
* A minimum of level 2 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
* Experience of working in a childcare setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Hours & Pay:
* 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, fully flexible
* £13.50-£14.43 per hour
