Management Accountant

We are looking toappoint an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance Team based inWakefield.
This is a rewarding and challenging role requiring financialand budgetary expertise, underpinned by excellent communication and negotiationskills. This post will suit someone keen to progress, who is enthusiastic,self-motivated and has the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
The Management Accountant will work closely with the FinanceManager delivering high quality, timely financial reporting and analysis tosupport decision making and financial control.
The successful applicant will be AAT qualified or equivalentand have management accounts experience that means that they will be confidentwith working on their own and liaising with budget holders to ensure anaccurate financial position is reported whilst supporting managers to deliverand develop their service.

Main duties of the job
The Management Accountant is responsiblefor supporting the Senior Management
Accountant and BDU finance manager indelivering high quality and timely financialmanagement services to all budgetholders within a Care Group. Providing support to the Senior/Finance Managerand budget managers in the development and deliveryof the BDU/ Directorate Annual Plan.

Job Summary
The Management Accountant isresponsible for supporting the Senior Management Accountant and BDU financemanager in delivering high quality andtimely financial management services to all budget holders within a BusinessDelivery Unit (BDU)/ Corporate Services.
Providingsupport to the Senior/Finance Manager and budget managers in the developmentand delivery of the BDU/ Directorate Annual Plan.
Productionof the monthly BDU/Directorate management reports including financial forecasts.
Intelligencegathering and investigation of service issues to advise on financial risk andoptions for decision making with direction from senior finance staff.
Providecosting and financial analysis for service development and business cases withdirection from senior finance staff.
Supervisionof junior BDU/ support services management accounts staff.
Leadershiprole within the finance team; able to contribute to a multi-disciplinary teamusing matrix working to deliver the BDU/ directorate objectives.

Person Specification
Special Knowledge & Skills
* Good understanding of operation of financial ledger.
* Good understanding of budget setting processes.
* Able to produce clear working papers which can be understood by finance managers and budget holders.
* Undertake complex or technical analysis to support reporting or specific project work.
* Good understanding of financial processes and able to design and implement improvements.
* Understanding of external reporting and accounting policies in relation to production of Annual Accounts.
* Able to develop good working relationships with budget holders and their teams co ordinate the provision of reliable, relevant accurate and timely information.
* Evidence of advanced excel skills.
* Understanding of Foundation Trust regime.
Disposition And Abi
* Ability to travel around the wider Trust.
* Car owner / driver.
Qualifications
* Substantial experience in management accounts.
* Evidence of personal development.
* Studying for accountancy CCAB qualification.

* Track record of day to day management of wide portfolio of budgets including :
* Co-ordinating and undertaking detailed workings on budget setting.
* Co-ordinating and producing monthly management reports.
* Analysis and investigation of more complex variances.
* Calculate year end forecasts on pay and non pay budgets.
* Intelligence gathering to support senior staff in analysis and decision making.
* Ability to problem solve analyse issues and develop options for a solution.
* Undertake project or business case costing with some supervision.
* Provide support to budget managers and non finance staff.
* Track record of supervision of staff.
* Delegation of work within small team and management of delivery to deadlines.
* Provide technical support to project work internal and external to finance.
