Main duties of the job
1. As a senior member of the medical team, the postholder will provide clinical leadership and support for the effective development of the TYA Neuro-oncology service and attend the relevant operational meetings.
2. Deliver high-quality clinical care to patients with CNS tumours, with dedicated input into the TYA Neuro-oncology Service.
3. Participate in weekly multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to treatment planning and decision-making.
4. Provide outpatient and inpatient care at The Royal Marsden with cross-site responsibilities as required.

5. Membership of the Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent qualification
6. CCT in clinical oncology or equivalent (or within 6 months of CCT at date of interview)
7. Eligible for full GMC Registration

8. Higher Degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)

9. Appropriate clinical experience in Neuro-oncology
10. Experience and relevant interest in clinical research
11. Broad based experience in radiotherapy including CSI and PBT
12. Proven publication track record in high impact peer reviewed journals
Desirable criteria
13. Track record in securing grant funding either peer reviewed or through industry partnership
14. Experience in developing research collaborative groups
15. Experience of working across institutions

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
